Payment and Fees

I am currently accepting the following insurance plans: Aetna, BCBS of MA, Cigna, and Point32 Healthcare. This list is continuously expanding, so pelase reach out to our office to obtain the most up-to-date list of accepted insurance plans. For those interetsed in working with me who do not have coverage with one of the aforementioned insurance plans, please see below for my fee-for-service schedule. Please note that I am considred an “out-of-ntework provider” for other insurance plans and can produce a compreheisve receipt of services (also referred to as a Superbill) that patients can submit directly to their insurance company. I encourage parents to contact their insurance company prior to their child’s first appointment to understand their insurer’s reimbursement for an out-of-network (OON) provider. Please note that while many of our fee-for-service patients are able to obtain full or partial reimbursements or to have the costs counted towards their deductibles, I can not guarantee that your insurance will reimburse for my services/fees.

Psychiatric services are also often eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) and I encourage patients/parents to confirm such reimbursement details with their plan administrator prior to their first appointment with me.

Please note that fee-for-service payment will be required of patients at time of service. For your convenience, we will keep your current credit card on file for all patients. This information is entered by you and managed securely in the Patient Portal. It is completely private and secure, and we will not handle or have access to your credit card information. As part of the streamlined billing procedures, your credit card will be charged on the date of service. Your portal will receive confirmation of your secure credit card payment transaction, along with the paid receipt indicating treatment and diagnosis codes which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Please see below for the current fee schedule.

No Surprise Act & Good Faith Estimate For Care

Patients have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much their medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to provide patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. Patients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

New Patients: New patients are required to have a full psychiatric evaluation at Ascend Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services prior to engaging in ongoing treatment, including obtaining diagnoses, treatment planning and recommendations, and/or psychiatric medication management. Psychiatric evaluations start with the required psychiatric evaluation appointment(s) (total cost of $500). Following the completion of the psychiatric evaluation, patients engage in a 25-minute comprehensive treatment planning appointment, at a rate of $125 per 25-minute session. Therefore, your cost-estimate for psychiatric evaluation with treatment planning with Ascend Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services would be $625. Please note that this does not include the cost for my medication management services (estimated below) or any additional counseling, mentoring, psychotherapy, drug and alcohol counseling, parenting skills-training, or any other recommendations or referrals that I may make or that the patient chooses to pursue. We are happy to provide you with a comprehensive individualized estimate at any time.

Established Patients: The need for appointments is clinically determined and impacted by your diagnoses, adherence to treatment, stressors, emergencies, engagement in therapy, self-care, and other factors. Depending on these factors, your cost-estimate of care with Ascend Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services could be as few as an appointment every three months or up to multiple sessions in one month. At $125 per 25-minute follow-up appointment, the estimated cost for psychiatric medication management is between $500 to $3000 annually. Please note that this does not include the cost for my psychiatric evaluation and treatment planning services (estimated above) or any additional collateral communication (current patients can refer to the “Practice Policies and Agreement” document accessible via the SimplePractice Patient Portal for detailed fee structure for such communication), counseling, mentoring, psychotherapy, drug and alcohol counseling, parenting skills-training, or any other recommendations or referrals that I may make or that the patient chooses to pursue.

Prior to engaging in evaluation and treatment with Ascend Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services, patients will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate highlighting the anticipated costs of services.
